This cafe is a great little place to just sit and relax and chat with the girls at the cafe.
the food is decently priced, as it is homemade and quite good. The counter service is great. Always the same girls taking your orders, and always with a smile. Two young girls will always make you smile, and make the trip well worth it. Although the most disappointing and appauling , I must say is managment. Very degrading, sarcastic, and lazy. Being in there several times a week, it seems like the girls are running the show. Comments made towards staff, even sarcasm towards customers is well heard by all, and if it werent for the food and counterservice up front, my vote for management would be expremely poor, and I would not return.
All said and done, I think its a great place to grab a bite to eat, and relax )

I HAVE BEEN TO THE CAFE MANY MANY TIMES. they have two great specials everyday and the soup is always homemade. The prices are very reasonable for good homemade food. I love the idea of sitting in a comffy cafe enjoying lunch and reading all the local news. It is a well kept secret and I will continue to come back and enjoy the food. Rating 10 out of 10

Very over priced and very mediocre. No one can justify a grilled cheese sandwich and fries with a can of pop for 10 bucks. Not only that you cant just get a sandwich, you have to over pay for fries that you wont eat, because they're soggy or just plain garbage.
Someone please open another cafe and everyone in our company will gladly keep you in business.

Oh I think the prices went up again... gouge gouge gouge...

every single time I have popped in either to eat in or take out, I have been disappointed by the snobby service. Today I waited in line, when it was my turn I wasn't greeted in any kind of friendly manner, she just looked at me with her pen tapping the counter. She then curtly informed me my choice was sold out, she sighed, rolled her eyes, then acted irritated that I didn't have a second choice ready. Meanwhile she very joyfully greeted the 3 men behind me and started to take their orders and she flirted and goofed off with them. When she came back to me, no smile, no niceness, she just seemed irritated by me. This attitude happens every time I have visited the cafe...is it because I am a woman? It seems if you are a man you get good service with a flirty smile. By the way, the food is not that good and way over priced for what you get. There are far better choices around, up on Austin and Marmont is a deli that makes huge paninis, a soup and sandwich shop, a subway, sushi, pizza, donairs...even Safeway deli would be a better choice than this cafe. I won't be back nor will anyone from our office who all seem to agree with me (even the guys who ruin my theory about the men getting better service).

Prices are way to high, I ordered a large chicken salad and got about 3 tablespoons. Rude staff! Too bad the area isn't zoned for another cafe, I'd open one myself. Least there would be good service, pricing and serving sizes.

I also get peeved every single time I visit the Cafe. No matter what I choose on the menu, they have always run out of it. Granted I am usually there sometime after 2 pm since we take late lunches, but seriously, they are still open for business so why not be prepared? The service is indifferent and often I feel I am an imposition when I come for a late lunch, which makes me wonder why they don't just close up and go home instead. The food is not so great, it doesn't take much to make a sandwich or salad, and it's a bit pricey for what you get. I paid over $9 once for some lettuce leaves with a few pieces of cold chicken on top, big deal! I only go there because there isn't a whole lot to choose from in this area. United Blvd area needs a deli style sandwich shop with friendly service...I would eat there everyday.

You stand in their line-up for 10 minutes just to hear they have run out of the special of the day by 1215 PM, this has happened to me before. It appears they are not savvy enought to plan ahead to have enough specials to run barely past noon... not to mention it must be tough not to post a simple sign so people don't waste their short lunchtime standing in a line up. Running short of a special they advertise in the area by 1215 PM tells their special is nothing more than a lost leader... here's the thing... the food isn't that good that one should be forced to order something other than what I decided on long before I show up due their poor planning. They have wasted my lunchtime for the last time, I will never go there again.

i have avoided this place because of the lines at the register, so painfully slow to pick up a phoned in order. but the food and specials are always worth the wait and the prices are good. home cooked style
